Handball Without Boundaries: Successful “Game for All” Event at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF)
The local event "Game for All" was successfully completed on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the specially designed “Balloon” space of the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF). The event was organized as part of the European project HIEP – Handball International Education Project, which is funded through the Erasmus+ Sport program. It was hosted by Olympiacos SFP in collaboration with CJT Solutions as a Greek partner.
The event aimed to:
- Promote handball as an open and accessible sport for all children,
- Highlight the importance of accessibility and inclusion in sports, particularly for communities that do not have easy access to organized sports facilities.
During the event, educational materials on handball were distributed, and a presentation on the HIEP project was held. The presentation focused on the key pillars of the project: coach education, basic techniques of adapted handball, and showcasing the positive effects of sports on youth.
The event was attended by 40 people, including children aged 8 to 16 years and coaches, who participated in interactive ball activities, experiential games, and exercises designed to strengthen cooperation and acceptance.
The HIEP project aims to enhance handball coach education, promote physical activity, and combat childhood obesity, with an emphasis on equal access to sports for all children, as outlined in the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO, 2016).
